GAINESVILLE EXPLORATION ACADEMY
Our students will think critically, act compassionately, work meaningfully, choose wisely, and live joyfully.
Welcome to Gainesville Exploration Academy, a NASA Explorer School! Our NASA program initiative promotes and supports the incorporation of NASA content and programs in science, technology, engineering and mathematics in the classrooms across the United States. Our children are instructed using the Common Core Standards in reading, English Language Arts and math. The Georgia Performance Standards are utilized for science and social studies using a hands-on, inquiry-based format. Technology is incorporated to expand and motivate each child’s learning in the classroom.
Gainesville Exploration Academy strives to maximize each child’s personal and academic growth. We understand that children have different ways of learning, interests and ways of expressing themselves. Therefore, we design our classrooms to engage, guide and encourage children through their individual learning experiences. Flexibility within classrooms allows for instruction that is geared to meet each child’s needs.
We encourage parental involvement and support for all our student activities as well as participation in our Parent/Teacher Organization and School Governance Council. Our extended learning opportunities such as Robotics, Chess, Gardening, Art, Chorus and the Boys & Girls Club (tutoring and afterschool programs) ignite curiosity and enrich creative abilities. We invite you to share in your child’s day by asking questions about their learning experiences and celebrating in their achievements.
Again, welcome to an exciting year at GEA …where our teachers and staff are committed to an undeniable culture of high expectations and success for all children!
