Beginning July 17, 2017, all students attending the Gainesville City School System will be required to provide two updated proofs of residency to the school that your child attends.

Students who do not present valid proofs of residency by September 1, 2017 will be withdrawn as of that date.

Congratulations to the GMS cheerleaders for their outstanding performance at the National Cheerleading Association Camp this summer! The team received numerous awards and recognition. Nine GMS cheerleaders were nominated for the NCA All-American Cheerleading Squad. They were Anna Grace Vlassis, Daniya Osbourne, Amayah Topps, Tre'Shya Martin, Margaret Embry, Gizelle Rivera, McKenna Shaw, Alexis Rucker, and Syderia Buffington.

7th Grade School Immunization Requirement
Students entering 7th grade, and new entrants* to Georgia schools in grades 8-12 will be required to have Tdap (Tetanus, Diphtheria, and Pertussis) and MCV4 (Meningococcal Conjugate Vaccine) BEFORE ENTERING SCHOOL FOR THE 2017/2018 SCHOOL YEAR. Contact or visit your local health department or private healthcare provider to see if your child needs to have these vaccines NOW.
*New entrant is any child entering any school in Georgia for the first time or entering after having been absent from Georgia school for more than twelve months or one school year.
